Bivalvia falls in on of the three main groups of mollusks. These are mollusks with two shells that they can close up tight for protection, which include clams, oysters and mussels. The two ends of the stone setting imitates the two shells that would secure and keep the pearls tightly in places with the tension. The tiny stone setting has successfully transformed into a luxourious chunky necklace through repetition.
